It’s a pleasant enough spot for a quick stop if the weather’s decent but one of Visit England’s top attractions? I find that hard to believe for a glorified duck pond in an old gravel pit next to a railway line!

The climb starts from a low-point of 28m at junction with Birdshill Road and reaches 58m on the Roman Road at the junction with Manor Road. If you're on the downhill, just watch out for traffic joining from a junction to your right from Clopton Green. Due to the tight turn, even if traffic is turning to go up the hill, they will cross into the downhill side of the road.

A road. With trees. But only on one side. So whether you get any shade depends on the time of day.
