Lovely gravel trails between garforth and aberford. Suggest lights for tunnel it was pitch black at mid day.

As mentioned a good surface but can be slippery in places. It's on a curve so the other side is not visible and has some ventilation shafts for a little light but not much. Go around in heavy rain unless you don't mind wading through up to your crank.

Farm tracks, broken bricks and some nice gravel bits. Bring big tyres

Surface in tunnel is good, maybe a little wet but passable for gravel bike unlike the alternative path. Just keep pedalling and aim for the light.

It's in the running for The Woodland Trust England's tree of the year 2018 --- Nearly 100 years ago, Vic Stead would walk from his home in Garforth near Leeds, along the old colliery railway, to visit Nellie, the young lady he was courting who lived in the nearby village of Aberford. One day, he came across three beech saplings on his route, and grafted one sapling between the other two to form the letter N, for Nellie.
