Mowing new residents, sensible reuse!

De Diekloper. This is the name of the new bridge between the city center with the Adam Mill and the promenade in Delfzijl, in the north of the province of Groningen.

An excellent cycle path with a view of the Robbenplaat, a nature reserve full of water birds and surrounded by calm waters. This path offers not only a beautiful route, but also a perfect place to stand still and enjoy the surrounding nature.

Delfzijl (Groning's Delfziel; obsolete German Delfsiel) is a small town in the province of Groningen in the northeastern Netherlands with 16,890 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2022) and was an independent municipality until the end of 2020. Since January 1, 2021, it has been part of the newly created municipality of Eemsdelta. The coastal towns of Delfzijl are located at the mouth of the Ems into the North Sea. Delfzijl has a new city beach. The beach was opened to the public over the weekend. As part of this, a new pedestrian bridge and a beach boulevard were also opened. The new beach, the boulevard and the pedestrian bridge, which creates a direct connection to the center of Delfzijl, are part of the “Marconi Buitendijks” project. The city beach is located at the mouth of the Ems between the Eemshotel and the harbor area - and therefore only a few minutes' walk from the center of Delfzijl. This makes the beach also interesting for day tourists. Although the beach, boulevard and bridge are now freely accessible, the official inauguration is still pending. There is a monument halfway along the wadden dike. This monument is a tribute to Ede Staal. With his beautiful music he contributed to the Groningen language and culture. The stainless steel band that winds around the monument contains the lyrics of the first verse of 'Credo - Mien bestoan', one of Ede Staal's beautiful songs.
