On the patronage of this church: Saint ANDREW is one of the twelve apostles whom Jesus Christ called to follow him. However, in the biblical accounts he is usually somewhat overshadowed by his much more famous brother: Saint Peter. In the Gospels we find the calling of the two siblings presented in different ways. According to the text version of the Gospel of John (John 1:40-42), Andrew is called first (together with another disciple whose name is not mentioned). Later he tells his brother that he has found the Messiah. The feast of Saint Andrew in the calendar of saints is on November 30th in all major Christian denominations. The X-shaped white "St. Andrew's Cross" on which he was executed forms the national flag of Scotland against a blue background and has also found its way into the national flag of the United Kingdom of Great Britain.

Quite reminiscent of St Andrew's Church at Covehithe (komoot.com/highlight/4811604). Also still in use despite being partially ruinous.

Approached via a short gravel stretch from either direction but quite rideable. Tremendous views of the River Blyth estuary and the harbour.

A real gem of a place and if like me your interests are coffee and art you won't be disappointed when stopping here. Great coffee, cakes and savoury snacks with some light lunch options too, all fairly priced. There's plenty of seating inside and out, cycle racks and a water station for those of you bringing along a four legged friend. 5 Stars on the "Reuse of building O'Meter!"

This was once the old Southwold Victorian Cottage Hospital which has been recently repurposed. It is now the home to Southwold Library, the Geography Fieldwork Academy and two community businesses – Old Hospital Nursery and The Canteen, a farm to fork café. The Old Hospital has been redesigned into a beautiful and environmentally sustainable space to meet the needs of the local community. The Canteen is a nice open bright space with seating in and outside. There is a breakfast and lunch menu with plenty to choose from including excellent coffee and a plethora of sweet treats to choose from for those with a sweet tooth. opening times are 9am till 4pm Tuesday through till Saturday. An excellent stop away from the main high street with those all important bike racks. Just off through routes good place for quick stop. Seems to have a music college or similar unless they were just staying there when we visited.

St Andrew's is the fourth church to have been built in Walberswick. It is tucked into the south-west corner of the ruins of the third church. Personally I think the church and ruins are best viewed first thing in the morning as the sun rises from the east

After you cross the bridge it looks like private land but it’s totally fine and a public footpath

Southwold Harbour sits on the River Blythe with a path running along both sides of the water which forms part of the Suffolk Coast Path. There is a ferry connecting Southwold and Walberswick in the summer months and the Harbour Inn is a great place to stop for a bite to eat or a drink if you are finishing your run nearby.

An often overlooked area, Southwold Harbour lies south of the town on the River Blyth. It is populated with quirky fisherman’s huts and offers simple outdoor dining.

The River Waveney runs from Redgrave in Suffolk to Breydon Water, Great Yarmouth and acts as the boundary between Norfolk and Suffolk. From Beccles bridge, the river is tidal so has a very different feel beyond this point.

If you walk through the main gate and keep going to the cliff you'll discover the last remaining grave from the friary Church that has long since gone.
