Castle Pulverbatch is a historic ruin made up of stone walls and towers which once formed an impressive castle. It has been described as one of the finest examples of a Norman motte and bailey castle in Shropshire. The area commands far-reaching views to the south over the beautiful Shropshire Hills.

Said to resemble the shape of a sleeping dragon, the twin peaks of Earl's Hill and Pontesbury Hill have their firey origin in a volcano some 650 million years ago. Glorious views from the summit - an Iron Age hillfort - stretch out to Wales and across the Shropshire Hills.

Wilderley Hill reaches 1,361 feet (415 m) at the summit and, near to the top, stands the Cothercott Stone. Dated 1791, this stone is a boundary marker between two manors; Cothercott and Wilderley. Rambling about Wilderley Hill offers outstanding views of the Shropshire Hills, especially if it's a fine day. The Stiperstones and the neighbouring Long Mynd are both easy to see.
