Lovely and convenient village cafe with coffee, pastries and savoury food options (sausage rolls, quiche, pasties). Nice place to have a break. Met other cyclists there using the cafe too!

Easy to walk or Cycle into and worth the visit and views

Good road surface and a straight road, but it is really steep heading down into Bridges. Make sure to use plenty of brakes and take it easy.

Montgomery Castles ruins sit on a steep crag above Montgomery with views over the English - Welsh border. Building started in 1223 but like many of the castles nearby it fell in the English Civil War and was partially destroyed in 1649 to stop it being used by the Royalists. Now it's managed by Cadw and open daily from 10:00 - 18:00 during the summer and 10:00 - 16:00 in the winter. Admission is free. It's about a 3 min walk from the road so push your bike or lock it safely.

A small market town in Shropshire but only just east of the Welsh border. many of the old pubs and breweries in the centre of the town are painted in bold colours and the new eco village on the edge f the town has been painted to reflect this.

Serves very nice pub food seven days a week. It had been raining before I set off, and the lady behind the bar was very understanding of my slightly dirty and bedraggled state. The homemade tzatziki is amazing.

Nice place to grab a pint and something to eat if you are in the area. plenty of benches outside if the weather is favourable.

Formerly the Horseshoe Inn, the Bridges is a much-loved hiker-friendly pub in the little village of Bridges. Lying between the Long Mynd and Stiperstones, the pub is an excellent stopping off point when walking in the area. Offering rooms as well as good pub fare, despite a change of hands, the Bridges has retained its excellent reputation.

Lovely pub indeed! A good place to refresh!
