The Powder Tower, dating from after 1300, is one of the towers in Grebenstein's generally well-preserved town fortifications. At the top of the tower, it is crowned with a beautiful Gothic finial.

There are some interesting sculptures surrounding a private building here. It was unclear whether they were open to the public.

Grebenstein's historic city fortifications include the city walls around the old and new towns and four remaining towers: the Maiden's Tower, the Owl Tower, the Linden Tower and the Powder Tower. Grebenstein's city fortifications date back to the 14th century and are a protected cultural monument. The Powder Tower is a round tower with a preserved parapet on the east side of the town, between the tower on the northeast corner and the Niedertor. In 1779 it was still called the Isenacker Tower. The defensive and well-preserved tower has a conical stone vault as a roof and once served as a prison. It is 28 meters high and over 7 meters thick.
