Nicolas Everitt Park is a popular public park situated along the shores of Oulton Broad, a large body of water that forms part of the Norfolk and Suffolk Broads. Oulton Broad is known for its boating and watersports activities, and Nicolas Everitt Park is an excellent starting point for boaters to explore the surrounding waterways. You can enjoy picnics in the park's open green spaces while overlooking the scenic views of Oulton Broad. There's also a cafe in the middle of the park.

10월 28, 2022, St Andrew's Church Ruins, Covehithe
St Andrews is a partially ruined church by the sea in the hamlet of Covehithe. An Anglican church, its ruins are grand and well worth seeking out – it mostly dates from the 15th century although there are older sections. In the 17th century, a smaller, cheaper-to-maintain church was built against the original tower, and this church is still in use today.

Remains of a medieval church, partially demolished as the village shrank and replaced by a smaller thatched structure built within the ruins and attached to the original tower. Very unusual.

Did you know that the original train bridge was destroyed by the home guard during the war by mistake and replaced by a Bailey Bridge. This was an easy to assemble temporary bridge to replace river crossings after they had been destroyed by the enemy. The Bailey has long since been replaced by the name has stuck

There is plenty of parking along the road - just remember to pull enough off the road to allow tractors to get down the road. The church is worth a walk around to explore the old ruins

This is a beautiful piece of ancient architecture that is in danger of being consumed by the sea. So my advice is go see it while its still standing!

11월 8, 2020, Southwold Water Towers
Look out for The Old Water Tower – it’s one of the first landmarks you’ll spot as you drive towards Southwold. A Grade II listed building that was constructed in 1886 for the Southwold Water Company, the tank had the capacity to hold 40,000 gallons of water and was wind-powered – an innovative idea in its day. Water from the tower gradually replaced Southwold’s many domestic wells and the communal Town Pump in the Market Place. But The Old Water Tower wasn’t always a place of happy progress; on St Valentine’s Day in 1899 the resident caretaker and engineer, George Neller, was crushed to death when his coat got caught in the pumping mechanism on the third floor. As the town grew and demand for a good domestic water supply increased, a new Art Deco style water tower was built next to the original one in 1937, with a capacity to hold 150,000 gallons of water.
