Nice pub. The road to Hales can get busy, and with the twist and turns its difficult to let cars past.

Clean beach. a place to enjoy the sea breeze.

Just in front of the KOOLUNGA HOUSE. Built in 1826 for John Garnham, naval officer under name of Hill House. After fighting against Napoleon, spent the rest of his life on this seaside. Family donated for public enjoyment and personal quietude.

Nice cycling area. Wide seafront that can be a good place to learn cycling. Bring more kids and little bicycles.

Great riverside location right on the Waveney by St Olaves Bridge. Easy access to the beer garden for bikes.

The best view down the full expanse of the huge sands is from the corner of Cliff Hill and Avondale Road at the northern end of the beach

St Olave's Priory (also known as Herringfleet Priory) was a small Augustinian priory founded in 1239. The remains consist of the undercroft, two aisles of the Lady Chapel, and the brick-vaulted refectory, which is now a cottage that was occupied until 1902. Managed by English Heritage, it's free to visit during daylight hours.

Lound Lakes is a nature reserve managed by the Suffolk Wildlife Trust. It’s a beautiful area that’s rich in wildlife with an abundance of damselflies and dragonflies. The Norfolk/Suffolk border runs horizontally through the lake, making this the most northerly spot in Suffolk.

There is limited parking in the station carpark and although there is no public right if way there is a clear well defined path through these beautiful woods which leads onto the Angles way

Worth just going onto the railway platform to look at the swing bridge which takes the railway over the river, even better if it’s in action,check the timetable!

Gorleston is just to the south of Great Yarmouth, but should not be overlooked in favour of its better known neighbour. Gorleston has a huge bay, riverside and a sandy beach stretching into the distance below cliff gardens and a promenade. TripAdvisor has named Gorleston as 8th in the Best Beaches in the UK.

The parish church has recently had a lottery funded renovation to return the building back to its former glory. It's worth a look if you passing and interested in the architectural history

Where Somerleyton lacks in local services it makes it back up in architectural and historical beauty.

Only 4 miles from its big brother Great Yarmouth. Gorleston has been voted the 8th best beach in the UK and channel Islands by TripAdvisor.

Famous for hosting the World Indoor Bowls Championship every January. There are a few cafes and shops. Making it a good place to stop for some refreshments.
