The Landsynagoge in Roth is a former synagogue, built in 1833 to replace the old synagogue that had previously burned down. The synagogue was destroyed during the November Pogroms of 1938. In the 1990s, the synagogue was gradually renovated and today serves as a memorial to the victims of the Holocaust in the Marburg-Biedenkopf district, as a learning center for school groups, confirmation groups, and adults, and as a place for cultural encounters. A good after-work round

You can clearly hear the water rushing from the weir along the hiking trail. Today (September 29, 2024) a boy really wanted to ride his bike over the weir to the other side. I advised him against it because of the danger, but he kept trying. At least he wasn't lying in the water with his bike when we got back.

The Salzböde cycle path is really very relaxing to ride. The landscape is wonderful, in the upper part the cycle path runs close to the main road, but then the path follows the Salzböde again, and you quickly reach Weidenhausen. Please note that part of it is currently not passable, so you have to follow the village road to the edge of the village. There is actually the only significant climb, and it is nice that you have a very beautiful view of the valley. You then quickly reach Erdhausen. The cycle path crosses the B255 and then rides through the fields past Gladenbach, Mornshausen, Lohra to the small town of Etzelmühle. Here the Salzböde valley narrows and you quickly reach the Steinfurtsmühle again. Via the Rauchmühle farmyard, continue to Schmelz, past the Schöne Mühle and you reach Salzböden, from there it is just a few minutes to Odenhausen. One more tip: from May to October a bus with a bike trailer runs from Niederwalgern train station to Bad Endbach on Saturdays/Sundays/holidays!
