The old church now serves as a communication hub for the villagers. The annual fair is also held here, always one week after Pentecost.

This so-called "Staanern Cross" belonged to Willibald Jost, a Linkemalingersch. A few years ago, the upper part was knocked down/demolished during a timber transport. For a while, the cross was threatened with removal due to cost reasons. The Ellar Cultural and Historical Society made a significant financial contribution. The "Staarner Cross" was also popular with children and young people because, in earlier times, group sled runs with toboggans or bobsleds would start in this area, with each vehicle aiming to achieve the record distance to Pension Eduard Jost in the valley. In keeping with the honey forest, a honey bear was carved from one of the many felled trees - beautiful!

Remains of the city fortifications: This medieval prison tower has been used by the regional court of St. Maximinus Ellar (Nassau-Hadamar) since the end of the 14th century. In the 15th century, prisoners were imprisoned at a depth of around nine meters and could only be brought back to freedom through the small fear hole. Built after 1372, the year Charles IV granted it city rights. The wall had two towers and two gates. The remaining section, which is around 50 meters long, has been partially modified and repaired in many ways. It contains the stump of a round tower, the so-called hunger tower. The half-timbered house next door is also a cultural monument: the half-timbered building of the extension is equipped with diamond patterns and detailed headbands.

The path is easy to walk on and, contrary to expectations, hardly overgrown. You come out directly below the last feeder road to the Heidenhäuschen
