Nynehead Hollow is a super cool landmark on the outskirts of Nynehead Village. The road has literally been roughly carved through solid rock, with high walls and trees growing above.

Bampton is a great stop for cyclists, offering a peaceful break with picturesque streets and a friendly atmosphere. Take a moment to explore the charming village, grab a coffee, and enjoy the scenic views before continuing your ride.

Nynehead Hollow is a scenic lane forming part of NCN 3. It's an impressive road that has been roughly carved through solid rock, with high walls and trees growing above. The “Hollow” was said to be dug out by the Sandford family in the hope of making Nynehead Court quicker to get to from the servant houses which were situated in East Nynehead.

Braziers is a coffee roaster where you can buy quality house blends of coffee beans, ground or at wholesale. They also sell coffee making kit like filters and pour over funnels. The café serves great coffee as well as other drinks, cakes and food. It's not huge and it's a good idea to bring a lock as you can't always see your bike from the tables. Open everyday from 8:30 - 16:00.

The railway makes a fun challenge ride. Friends or family members can ride the train and you can race on the bike there and back with an ice cream or chips on the sea front in the middle.

Bishops Lydeard station is the southern terminus of the West Somerset heritage railway. The railway runs from here north to the coast near Watchet and then along the coast to Minehead. There are regular steam and heritage diesel trains running throughout the year but check the website for timings. https://www.west-somerset-railway.co.uk/

Blue Anchor bay is on the Bristol Channel between Watchet and Minehead. It's a small settlement and one of the smaller stops on the West Somerset Heritage railway line. The beach is large and rocky/sandy. The tide moves quickly here. The road follows the coast for about 1km, it's a nice surface and a great stretch to ride.

Watchet is also one of the stations on the West Somerset Heritage railway. Watch the steam trains or take in the town on your way past.

Can be busy.

The Square in the heart of Wiveliscombe is home to some absolutely fantastic buildings. With several Grade Listed structures and some dating back to the 17th century, it makes for a beautiful town centre. The most magnificent building has exquisitely carved wooden panels featuring Norwegian-style characters.

The southern terminus of the West Somerset Heritage Railway, visiting this historic station feels like stepping back in time. Even if you don't plan on catching a train here, the station is wonderful to explore and you can find the Gauge Museum on platform 1 to find out more about the line's history. There's a cafe here and a booking office. Check out the timetable online to find a train to catch or simply arrive at the station in time to watch a steam train chugging in. A 20 hectare nature reserve consisting of wet heath, semi-natural deciduous woodland, scrub, bracken and ponds. Stunning display of wildflowers in the summer.

Superior cafe that's very cosy in winter... if you can get inside!

Amazing coffee and cake but if you want lunch make sure to get there before 2.30pm when they stop serving. Sadly we missed out!

Lovely harbour town with all the amenities. Parking, and most importantly access to both Exmoor (hilly) and the Quantocks (HILLY). Does get a tad busy in peak season, but then this is the Costa Del Somerset so what did you Expect?
