Pilton Church, officially known as "St Mary the Virgin," is located in the Pilton area of Barnstaple. The church's history is believed to date back to the 11th century, when the church first served as a religious center in the area. The church itself is a fine example of medieval architecture, showing both Norman and Gothic influences. Pilton was originally an independent settlement. The church was not only a place of worship, but also a social center. It survived numerous historical events, including the Reformation and the English Civil War, and to this day retains many of its historic features, such as old gravestones and inscriptions.

Best place in North Devon for bike selection and bike service . Helped me set up my new Wahoo Bike computer - nothing too much for these people. Taw Velo Cycle groups organised from here and an annual charity ride called the 'Smugglers ' which is a grand day with BBQ on finish line.

Cool little cut through

The Arlington Estate has been in the Chichester family for over 500 years, with the house built in 1823. It has been in the care of the National Trust for over 70 years now, so you can visit the house, gardens, wider estate and the carriage museum there for a fee, or free if you're a National Trust member. A beautiful place to spend a few hours and a great cafe too - keep an eye out for the marvellous peacocks too!

Great shop with a huge selection of bikes of all kinds and for all ages as well as clothes and accessories. Great cafe attached which serves a very good coffe. Friendly and helpful staff to boot, thoroughly recommended!
