In fact a bridge in the Amper

It's worth getting off and enjoying the view!

It is right on the path and can be viewed. A little further on there is a bench for a break and a beautiful little pond. There are also two very old oak trees here.

The farm is known for its impressive oak trees, which are over 300 years old, and the small, Romanesque chapel of St. Vitus. This chapel, which is surrounded by a churchyard wall, was already mentioned in the 13th century and is an important cultural heritage of the region.

The material is very beautiful and artistically designed.

The Amper River crossing near Schöngeising has a long and interesting history. Schöngeising was already an important location in Roman times, as the Roman road Via Julia crossed the Amper River here. This road connected Augsburg (Augusta Vindelicorum) with Salzburg (Juvavum) and was an important trade route. Archaeological finds, including oak posts from a Roman bridge, attest to the existence of this crossing. This bridge facilitated river crossings and was part of a roadside station that offered travelers rest and supplies.

These two giant oak trees have a circumference of over 5 meters. One of the oaks measures about 5.25 meters in circumference, the other about 4.98 meters. These majestic trees are over 100 years old and are a fascinating sight.
