Nice beach about 2.5 miles long between Northam and Westward Ho

From here you can take a turn to visit Kipling Tors. Kipling Tors is in an elevated position overlooking the beautiful Bideford Bay. The tors are famous as they are where Rudyard Kipling, English novelist and short-story writer, used to hang out with his friends and smoke cigars and read books together.

Mermaid's Pool is a geological Site of Special Scientific Interest situated in north-western Devon. The mermaid's pool holds a special kind of magic to it and is best visited during low-tide. The pools make a wonderful place to explore with the whole family, where you can discover a fascinating array of sealife and flora.

Appledore is a beautiful coastal village characterised by its winding narrow streets, colourful houses, and rich maritime history. The village is located on the banks of the River Torridge and provides some excellent views across the crystal clear water toward Instow on the other side. The village features a number of fantastic pubs, restaurants, and cafés, as well as some shops, two churches, and a ferry port which can take you to Instow.

At low tide, you can walk along the beach here on the banks of the River Torridge. The views here across the river are wonderful.

The Northern Burrows Country Park is a Site of Special Scientific Interest located on the western edge of the Taw Torridge Estuary. It is made up of a beautiful mixture of grassy coastal plain with salt marsh, sand dunes and grasslands. It is a picturesque destination, perfect for immersing yourself in the beauty of nature and savouring some wonderful, tranquil coastal views.
