According to (unsubstantiated legend), the 350-year-old French oak served as a resting place for the French as they marched through. Maybe also as a signpost to Bavaria (otherwise the French might not have found Bavaria at all 😂😂).

The Buchbrunnen at the southern end of Auernheim was the town's main water source. Next to it you will find a Kneipp pool for health.
