A very challenging route from Wenden to the Schwarzer Grat via the Raggenhorn summit. However, once you reach the Raggenhorn summit, you are rewarded with a magnificent view. (The signs along the trail with the estimated times can make you feel like you're going very slowly...)

Extensive forests surround the Schwarzer Grat. Directly near the summit, you hike through a lush green forest that repeatedly offers views of the Allgäu region. The partially exposed roots are particularly impressive.

The fastest way back to Bolsternang. A narrow path over a ridge back to the valley, or up? Across a cow pasture. The kids were absolutely thrilled.

The highlight for the kids. Wild over hill and dale! But be careful, especially on the downhill slopes, you need to be sure-footed.
