Memories of the old train times

The old VW Beetle reminds me of earlier times...

A symbolic representation of the Aischtalbahn (Aisch Valley Railway), which once ran here, with a wealth of information material. As the German Federal Railway increasingly restricted service on its branch lines in the 1970s, rail service was also reduced to weekdays. On May 30, 1976, passenger service ended, which was subsequently replaced by rail buses. Freight service continued until September 23, 1993, and the line was officially closed at the end of that year. The tracks were dismantled, and the trains were replaced by buses from Neustadt station to Uehlfeld and back. Today, the Aischtal Cycle Path runs along parts of the old route. (Wikipedia)

The property at Hindenburgplatz 1 in Dachsbach was destroyed in the Thirty Years' War. Rebuilt in 1680 as a bakery, baking has been carried on here for 12 generations, initially by the Mohr family, and since 1822 by the Erbel family as a milking shop. Today it is owned by the independent baker Arnd Erbel, as can be seen on the plaque on the building.
