On May 16, 1788, "at 6 a.m." Friedrich Rückert was born in "House No. 384." Rückert had an ambivalent relationship to the name of his birthplace throughout his life. In the poem "The Visit to the City" he wrote, among other things: "Can you build a city, To then give it the name that you can only sing with horror? You could have been called Mainfurt, you could have been called Weinfurt, Because you produce wine, But Schweinfurt, Schweinfurt it should be!" Nowadays this fact is used for marketing purposes, in front of the tourist information office opposite - during opening hours - one of the colorful pigs stands.
