The Gasthof Zum Grünen Baum (address Falterstraße 2, formerly house number 134) is a listed building in the eastern old town of Dettelbach in Lower Franconia. The first documented landlord of the Gasthof Zum Grünen Baum was Johann Conrad Lamprecht. In 1769 he received the so-called right to sign for his business. After a fire in 1780, the two houses at Falterstraße 2 and 4 were rebuilt. The reconstruction lasted until 1782. Both houses were already built as inns and equipped with a large dining room. The cellars remained untouched by the fire, so that the building still has wine cellars from the Middle Ages. For a long time, the inn was connected to the Dettelbacher Burgberg via an underground passage, on which today the parish church rises. The inn has been run continuously since the 18th century. The "Green Tree" is classified as a monument. The underground elements are listed as a ground monument. It is also part of the ensemble of the old town of Dettelbach. Today there is also a hotel on the premises. The inn presents itself as a two-storey eaves-side building on the edge of the church battlements. It was built in 1782, as indicated by the year above a door frame. This makes the house one of the buildings in Dettelbach that were built at the transition from baroque to rococo. This is also indicated by the eared window frames on the facade. The storeys are separated from each other by cornices. The interpreter of the 18th century has been preserved. It has neoclassical iron rods, but ends with a rococo-like end. The symbol refers to the name of the inn with a green tree.
