The first documented mention dates back to 1170, when the Ebrach Monastery and the Bishopric of Würzburg exchanged property "also in Buntdorf." The Bishopric of Würzburg and the Truchseß von Wetzhausen family, documented since 1343, shared the lordship of the Bundorf manor. The rights of the Bishopric, which was secularized in favor of Bavaria, fell to the Grand Duchy of Würzburg in 1805, and those of the manor in 1806 with the mediatization. The manor became part of Bavaria in 1814. This sandstone doorpost, old but charming, is a sight to behold. It's not at all ordinary and run-of-the-mill, but rather unique and individual. The typical houseleeks complement it. With the half-timbered house behind it, it creates a very beautiful overall picture.
