A romantic moated castle in Unsleben. A beautiful photo opportunity from all sides. The remains of an old tower and a moated castle can still be seen. The castle is on the list of the Hague Convention for the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflict.

In the so-called Hallstadt period, from 750 to 450 BC, the deceased were mainly buried under burial mounds. The burial mound had a certain size depending on the social status of the deceased person. The larger, the more important.

The Elstal cycle path leads from Unsleben in the Streutal to Oberelsbach. The cycle path is almost completely asphalted.

Unsleben Castle is one of the region's most important cultural monuments. It was first mentioned in documents in 1160. Since then, it has had and continues to have an eventful history, shaped by art (the two famous painters Hugo von Habermann, the Elder and the Younger, were well-known) and by different owners who have left their mark on the property over the centuries. The result today is a unique building in which very different styles have been realized. The castle is still inherited family property. It is privately inhabited and yet at the same time opens its doors to guests who want to spend weddings, holidays and contemplative moments here.
