All the quiet lanes leading in and out of hartland make for great walking experience.

The Breakwater at Bude harbour was first constructed in 1819 to protect the canal but destroyed by a storm in 1838. The present structure dates from 1839-43 - a low wall whose sloping seaward side stands only 4ft above the high-water mark of Spring tides.

A small selection of trails that take you through the trees and open areas, with some good views down the valley.

Large flocks of starlings can be seen in late summer after riding under the bridge. The bridge offers great views along Bideford Quay and on the Torridge Bridge.

Hartland is an unspoiled rural village situated inside the beautiful North Devon Area of Natural Beauty. Hartland is a social hub to the neighbouring communities and features traditional shops, a beautiful old church, great cafés and restaurants, and a number of excellent pubs including The King's Arms & The Hart Inn.

Lovely traffic free well kept and well used path mostly following the rivers with several snack/coffee stops along the way
