Now we have to turn back the same way. Maybe you'll be lucky and get a seat in the restaurant before the steep climb back down

And there is nothing more here. The beach is not suitable for swimming. So it goes up steeply again 😜

At least in German-language travel guides there is a real Clovelly bashing à la "Devon's Tourist Trap No. 1". So we didn't think it was that bad! There is a very expensive parking lot at the top of the town, there is a tourist shop with an exhibition, then the road goes steeply down into town. And yes, there are crowds of fellow tourists. Nevertheless, we found it so beautiful, picturesque and interesting that we went there twice. Later in the day it became so “quiet” that we managed to get a seat in the pub

You can only access this from the Coast path and not from the A39.

This is one of the nicest parts on the coastal path. Stunning view and a really great walk

Small harbour with toilets and restaurant/cafe and a hotel. The food from the restaurant which is part of the hotel is based around local ingredients. Just a few examples they have locally sourced Closely beef burgers which are delicious and locally caught fish of the day with happened to be cod on the day we visited.

This building is a great place to stop and you can even camp here overnight, which is what we did. You can close the barn doors but there is a large window on the side of the building without any glass. However, it wasn't windy as it’s sheltered by a lot of trees. Even though it rained really hard, we didn't get any rain coming through either. The roof is made of tin so hearing the raindrops coming down was really peaceful. There is a pub about a mile up the hill, which is a good place to have food and a few beers before settling down. This hut is situated on the coastal path; it is an absolute gem.

A nice place to view back up the coast, there is a steep drop down to the sea so be careful but it's worth it for the view.

Shrouded in ancient woodland the coast path here is spectacular and beautiful. The ground underfoot is soft in places and has some challenging ascents and descents so I would advise some good footwear particularly if it's been raining.

Some helpful shelter if you get caught out but also just a nice place to stop on the SW Coast path.

This fascinating little village clings to a 400-foot (122 m) cliff. The cobbled streets of the picturesque fishing village are so steep that there is no vehicular access, just donkeys and sledges. You are afforded superb views from the village.

6월 12, 2019, The Hobby Drive
The Hobby Drive is home to internationally important species of lichen (more than 250 varieties) and the mystical woodlands afford spellbinding glimpses of the coast. Hobby Drive was built between 1811 and 1829 by Sir James Hamlyn Williams as part of the Romantic movement, which celebrated the beauty of the natural world in response to the increasing emphasis placed on science and logic following the Industrial Revolution.
