A beautifully restored Roman tower

The official level of the Stehenbach is located here shortly after the Unterstadion (https://www.hvz.baden-wuerttemberg.de/pegel.html?id=00228). At the same time there is a practical jetty to cross the water.

Popularly known as the Römerturm, actually the residential tower of a former moated castle built in the 13th century. Today used as a museum. Next to it is a statue of St. George.

I lived in this rectory for 3 years. The grotto is artificial, you should knock on it ... 😀

A rock grotto was built in 1911 to the west of the parsonage, in the “Weiher” valley. Next to it is a concrete vault, which dates from the same construction period and was used by the pastors as a walkway to pray the area. The grotto was extensively renovated as a listed building in 1996 and represents a special attraction with a peculiar and original character.

In 1482 an indulgence was granted to build the chapel. 1710 - 1717 the chapel experienced a "baroque" in the interior and exterior. It was restored in 1976 - 1979, revealing a picture cycle that was created in the years 1600 - 1630. The picture cycle depicts scenes of passion and suffering from the life of Jesus. The altarpiece depicts pilgrimages and intercession from past times. The Mother of God in the baroque glass shrine, the late baroque high altar and the crucifixion group are worth seeing.
