Hape Kerkeling, a well-known entertainer in German-speaking countries, jotted down some thoughts about a mystical experience (an encounter with God) while traveling through Spain, which I would also like to offer to the viewer of this small sacred monument: “To encounter God, one must first extend an invitation to him, for he does not come uninvited. The castle has a lovely beer garden, open in good weather and on Sundays and public holidays. It's worth the climb.

But it is not Katzenstein Castle.

This is not Katzenstein Castle, but Niederalfingen Castle, also called Marienburg. Katzenstein Castle is near Dischingen and cannot be seen from here.

With parking, right on the Limes. Ideal for children.

Beautifully situated in the Kocher Valley, with a steep climb to the castle. Beer garden on Sundays and public holidays.
