Great trail right by the stream

It stands on the bridge next to the St. Nicholas Chapel.

The Rötelbach stream winds picturesquely through the Black Forest, enchanting visitors with its crystal-clear water, gentle rapids, and lush vegetation. A hike along the stream is a delight, especially for nature lovers: the tranquility, birdsong, and soothing rippling of the water create the perfect retreat. My tip: Just take a look at the bridge on which Hermann Hesse stands next to the chapel from below. A footpath leads under the bridge along the wall, and you can see the Nagold Dam up close.

The market square with its half-timbered showcase houses, the Protestant church and the market fountain are all calendar motifs.

One of the best views of Calw. A large information board explains that the Gimpelstein has been known since 1520. The name probably comes from the bullfinch, which was ambushed here with a bird trap. Further up, there is a sky lounger for relaxing. The premium hiking trail "Water, Forest, and Meadow Path" also passes by here.
