It's not a waterfall , but a weir, to control the water flow down to the mill at Haygrove, which is now converted to a house. Apparently, it was called a waterfall by someone in COVID times. It made the front page of TripAdvisor and the name stuck.

Heading west, it's a smooth climb, but popular with dogs and their walkers. Some of the corners are quite tight, so sing out. Or a merry tinkle of your bell. It's nice to be nice.

Swoopy little single track road with plenty of corners and a ridge of dirt down the middle to catch the unwary. A fun country lane!

My only visit to this area so far. Was ok, but not really anything that gripped me.

If you like finding Ordinance Survey triangulation points Staple Hill is a good one to seek out. It’s located in the woodland on the left of the pathway if you are travelling up from the carpark. Be prepared to seek it out though. It is not visible from the path and blends in nicely against the backdrop of trees.

Staple Hill is a hill in the English county of Somerset, the highest point in the Blackdown Hills. It is classed as both a Marilyn and a Hardy. This is one of the points on the Staple Fitzpaine Herepath ( I could think of other things to call the Herepath, but i'd get banned ) a part of Forestry England woodlands. There is a loop walk, starting from the car parking area, of 800m taking in a couple of view points with the paths upgraded early in 2009 to be suitable for disabled access.

The swoopy bridleway from the adjoining highlight quickly turns overgrown and cobbly, down to Woodram Lane. It's walkable, but a restricted byway unless you're on a mule, llama,or surefooted horse. Or you're Hans Rey (or any other superhuman trials rider)

Lovely swoopy downhill; grippy ,leafy and loamy, with a wire fence on the right and the hill dropping away to your left. Steps and roots, then turning rocky, cobbly and overgrown.

Poundisford Park is a deer park in Somerset that dates back to medieval times. It's grassy underfoot and relatively flat making it the ideal spot for a run.

Staple Hill is a Marilyn, with a summit at 1,033 feet (315 m). It rises in the Blackdown Hills AONB in Somerset and is half-cloaked in woodland. There's a trig pillar at the summit and be sure to roam around a bit out of the trees to enjoy the hill's sweeping views.

This 16th-century house sits in a medieval deer park and peaceful grounds. Built in the mid 1500s by William Hill, the estate itself was originally part of the Bishop of Winchester's Taunton Deane estate. Other buildings and extensions were built in the 17th century and there's a lodge to the north which pre-dates the main park. While private, the Channel to Channel footpath passes right by Poundisford Park, offering wonderful views of the impressive house.

Pitminster church is dedicated to Saints Andrew and Mary and is particularly pretty with its single spire. Inside, you can find a magnificent alabaster tomb containing effigies of John and Ann Coles, dating back to the early 17th century. Outside, an old graveyard brings a sense of serenity to the setting.

Staple Hill at 315m is a UK designated Marilyn (height prominence of 150m) in the Black Down Hills area of Somerset. It is a trig pointed summit.
