It's not a waterfall , but a weir, to control the water flow down to the mill at Haygrove, which is now converted to a house. Apparently, it was called a waterfall by someone in COVID times. It made the front page of TripAdvisor and the name stuck.

Heading south across the stones it's a steep rooty climb up to the footpath, with a duck under a rail thrown in.

And you get a free Bonio for your canine companion, or you can buy them a 'pup cup' or treat from the counter.

I'm sure this dog agility only, as the obstacles will need 100% commitment if you're on a bike!

Poundisford Park is a deer park in Somerset that dates back to medieval times. It's grassy underfoot and relatively flat making it the ideal spot for a run.

Taunton's fantastic Vivary Park is a wonderful place to take a stroll and find peace and quiet. The park has a little bit of everything, from manicured flower beds and graceful shelters to fountains and well-kept lawns, the park is of late-Victorian origin. For families, there's mini golf and a play park as well as a cafe and facilities.

This 16th-century house sits in a medieval deer park and peaceful grounds. Built in the mid 1500s by William Hill, the estate itself was originally part of the Bishop of Winchester's Taunton Deane estate. Other buildings and extensions were built in the 17th century and there's a lodge to the north which pre-dates the main park. While private, the Channel to Channel footpath passes right by Poundisford Park, offering wonderful views of the impressive house.

There's been a weir on the River Tone here since the 13th century but, due to flooding, multiple iterations have been destroyed. Today, the weir is rather more stable and makes for an eye-catching feature on the river, next to its eponymous park. You can cross the weir on foot or bicycle.

This wonderful parkland on the edge of Taunton was created by local volunteers in team with the parish council and Forestry Commission. More than 5,000 native trees have been planted and it's a haven for wildlife. Perfect for a stroll or as part of a longer walk, there are plenty of paths to explore here.
