Not a gravel riding track. Only suitable for mountain bikes due to the road conditions, big rocks, and large potholes. If you must ride a gravel bike here, do not cruise and always go slowly.

All cyclists are able to pass the toll bridge for free

Very beautiful stone bridge with fragments from the 13th century. The Wallingford Bridge is almost 270 m long. From the bridge you have a beautiful view of the Thames and the "Boat House".

Quieter than Henley and perhaps more beautiful.

Inspired by India, Maharajah's Well is a 400ft well which is equal to St Paul's Cathedral.

A little uncomfortable with a road bike, but a nice shortcut to avoid the more trafficed route from Tidmarsh via Theale High Street.

I rode this stretch of road again today, again going downhill coming from Stoke Row, and with the road a little wet and covered in slippery fallen leaves in places the fairly sharp right bend at the bottom caught me a little by surprise. Nothing unmanageable, but I would recommend to watch your speed when you approach the bend as it really can be slippery and treacherous depending on circumstances.

I took this stretch downhill, in the opposite direction as the previous Tip from Stoke Row towards Whiteridge Hill, in a mid-November afternoon. The canopy of trees and the thick blanket of fallen brown leaves gave the area a magic atmosphere... like being in a story of magic creatures of the woods hiding in plain sight and quietly laughing at my inability to see them... The road is wide and well maintained and the downhill stretch was too enjoyable to stop for a picture, but I'll make sure next time I stop and snap a few: who knows that I won't be able to catch one of those elusive creatures on film this time? :-)
