The ever so slightly smaller summit of High Willhays, Yes Tor feels grander due to the large granite outcrop. Standing beside the triangulation point atop of Yes Tor offers beautiful views in all directions. A must climb if hiking with the Meldon area.

A beautiful section of route 27 Granite Way where the trail opens up as you pass across the Meldon Viaduct. Views across show the undulating hills of the highest area within Dartmoor National park where High Willhays and Yes Tor are situated.

Meldon Reservoir was constructed in the 1970s to supply water to the surrounding area. The car park by the dam offers good access to the high tors of north Dartmoor. Run across the dam and up onto the moor or along the enjoyable lakeside trail.

Great to include on a hike or run, or even cycle. Great views of the valley and reservoir/dam

High Willhays is the highest point in the south west and just bests it's neighbour Yes Tor, I like approaching from the okemont drop, coming from kitty tor down and up via fordsland ledge. An absolute beast of a run or hike up

At 2,031 feet (619 m) Yes Tor is lower than neighbouring High Willhays, but it's arguably the better summit. The rocky summit tor is topped with a trig point, military shelter box and a flag pole used to mark when the range is in use. It's a great viewpoint in the northwestern edge of Dartmoor and a brilliant run destination.

At 2,037 feet (621 m) High Willhays is the highest point of Dartmoor National Park, and also the highest point in England, south of the Peak District. High Willhays is two metres higher than nearby Yes Tor, but not as prominent or rocky. It's a brilliant run from Okehampton, Meldon Reservoir or from a wilder direction across the moor.
