Jogging along these miles of sandy beaches is a unique experience: The constantly changing, soft, uneven surface trains your musculoskeletal system in a completely different way than solid ground, and at least visually, even after 10 kilometers, you still get the impression that you haven't made any progress. At least you'll be warmed up enough to enjoy a dip in the cool waves, even in the often chilly weather up here.

Beautiful beach, passable even with smooth tires or with very few grooves close to the water (28mm minimum, 35 and more preferable)

At Blokhus Beach, Blokhus' landmark stands on top of the dune, majestically looking out over the sea. The distinctive red Blokhus sea mark was erected in 1884 along with 25 other sea marks on the west coast of Jutland to warn sailors of the treacherous coast and prevent ships from running aground. Each sea mark was given a unique look so that sailors always knew exactly where they were. In 1944, the Blokhus sea mark was blown up by the Germans, and it was not until 2006 that a faithful copy of the original sea mark was rebuilt. Not to help sailors, who now have far more advanced navigation techniques, but to revive Blokhus' maritime identity. The large weekly market in Blokhus takes place every Tuesday during the summer holidays from 10am to 2pm in the courtyard at Strandingskroen. Here you can find many interesting products from local suppliers, including meat, sausages, honey, jams, salt, cheese, bread and freshly grown berries and vegetables2 Blokhus also offers many other activities and experiences, such as free music concerts in the market square, the Blokhus-Løkken Wind Festival and the Blokhus Marathon.
