The present church building dates back to 1230, although there was almost certainly a church, probably made of wood, on the same site before this date. It is dedicated to St. Swithun, who was the Anglo-Saxon Bishop of Winchester.

A typically beautiful Buckinghamshire village, North Martston is a treat to visit. It boasts an excellent, award-winning pub, the Pilgrim, which serves quality food. The community shop is a great place to stock up on supplies and you can do so in the knowledge that your trade is going directly back into improving the local area.

Swanbourne is a delightful, tranquil village in the Buckinghamshire countryside. There are a number of public footpaths and bridleways that splay out from the village. Its most significant building is St Swithun's Church, Grade II-listed and originating from the 13th-century. The Betsey Wynne is a classy gastro pub that serves food throughout the day. Accommodation can be found at Cherry Tree B&B.

Ace pub with a good little garden to the rear. Currrently home to the Monkshood coffee van while we are in lockdown which is also very much recommended!
