Great for a Sunday breakfast!

Great stop on our ride. We done cafes and ice cream and also topped up our water bottles. Staff is very friendly and helpful and knowledgeable about the history spot. Don’t miss it! I must visit on foot and properly discover such amazing and significant place.

I was coming out of Cliddesden when I noticed this panoramic spot which offered the perfect excuse for a short break... Yes, you can see some of the M3 traffic and yes, it does partially spoil the view, but if you can look past that and look North or North-West, rather than West all you'll see are fields and trees, in this particular case dressed in Autumn colours. Somehow oddly, there is a rubbish bin conveniently located by the gate too (handy to discard those snack wrappers you stored in your pockets).

First time I noticed the nice Bridleway signposts from Hampshire Countryside Service (I found many more during the rest of my little tour). These are much nicer and more noticeable than the ones I usually see in Berkshire, and this one in particular pointed me towards a nice and wide path through the trees. I did not have a chance to explore this trail on this occasion, but will certainly be back for a more off-roady tour of this part of the country.
