지나가는 사람들에게 이곳에 펼쳐진 방앗간 연못은 평범해 보일 수 있지만, 다른 관점도 있습니다. 예를 들어, 그의 풍부한 상상력이 담긴 어린이 책으로 유명해진 오트프리트 프로이슬러(1923~2013)의 이야기 세계에서는 완전히 다릅니다. 이곳의 방앗간 연못은 매우 흥미로운 물의 요정 가족의 서식지이기도 합니다. 오늘날까지 인기 있는 그의 책 "꼬마 물의 요정"은 가족의 후손이 겪는 모험에 대한 놀라운 이야기를 들려줍니다. 오디오북 CD에서 물의 요정 엄마는 아들을 겨울잠에 빠뜨리며 노래합니다. "꼬마 물의 요정아, 눈을 감고 잠시 쉬렴, 나는 여기 앉아서 네가 자는 모습을 지켜볼게. 네 꿈이 널 인도하고 놀라운 감동을 주길, 그리고 네가 다시 깨어나면 새로운 한 해가 시작될 거야."

The tow path in the Basingstoke canal, from Woking to the junction with the Wey, it is paved and smooth. The tow path in the Wey Navigation canal is more bumpy, roots etc. Apt for a gravel bike, perhaps not so for a road bike.

The lakes are just as beautiful as the pleasant wooden path through the marshland. It's very quiet here, although you can hear the noise of the nearby highway. Nevertheless, you can find and enjoy the silence here - we were thrilled by this little paradise!

Rapley Lake is beautiful and sits on the outskirts of the Royal Estate of Bagshot Park. It's very peaceful and on a still day the lake is like a mirror. It's a bit of a dead end if you cycle there as there's only really one path in or out, but lots of little paths for hiking. There's ducks and geese who like to be fed!

Very close to Bagshot, within Swinley Forest, you will find this beautiful lake, perfect for a walk and for getting lost in the network of paths throughout the forest. The area can get a bit muddy after heavy rainfall, so keep that in mind and wear appropriate footwear.

Enjoy a stroll through the beautiful wetland and woodland that makes up Riverside Nature Reserve in Guildford. The reserve is home to a number of plant, animal, and rare bird species, including kingfishers, herons, and warblers.
