Brunnwald Castle is located in the village of Brunnwald, municipality of Vorderweißenbach in the district of Urfahr-Umgebung near Bad Leonfelden.

Beautiful view of the treetops...YES To be honest, I expected more from the observation tower... But it was still nice to have been up there 🫶

The sturdy, tall tower is now surrounded by equally tall trees - the view over the surrounding area to Reichenau is still clear, but towards the Alps a row of trees is already blocking the view.

Brunnwald Castle was built in the 18th century. Today it is owned by Prince Georg Starhemberg.

A truly beautiful destination! There's a parking area 300 meters from the lookout tower, from which a path through meadows and woods leads to the tower. At the top of the platform, you'll find information panels about the magnificent view, a wooden bench, and summit registers, which are unfortunately quite tattered. ... Brunnwald Castle has a long history, ranging from its construction between 1724 and 1727 to a fire in 1898 and reconstruction in 1905 to a maternity ward, a convalescent home and finally a restaurant. Today you can only admire the castle from the outside. It still somehow has a magical aura!

The street village of Langzwettl has many beautiful farms, the two at the end towards Zwettl still stand out with the flowers and trees on the house wall.
