This section is completely paved. There is a bit of loose gravel when you approach the Phoenix Trail, but the underlying surface is tarmac/asphalt.

Picturesque village with a school which wouldn't look out of place in a Harry Potter film.

A legendary village sign put up by locals years ago. Worth a pilgrimage to, or at least a photo to say you’ve been there!

Long Straight road, no traffic, just dog walkers and cyclists. Host to the Duck Race every year, and overall a good place to look at the river. These days, parts have been closed due to the disrepair, and the road surface isnt brilliant. But if you want to test your straight line speed, or look at the border of Oxon and Bucks, not a bad place.

Good coffee shop with bike locks outside. Large space, and a sausage roll with Chutney + Crips + Drink for £6-7. Convenient spot in the lovely village of Chinnor for riders from the Chilterns, Ridgeway, and Thame.

The road takes you through sprawling fields of wildflowers and crops, adding bursts of colour to the landscape hills. This is a fantastic road for cycling, with spectacular views a plenty!
