fantastic old pub with a large (front) garden with tables under an old oak for shade and a hedge to lean your bike on. Conveniently located, open at weekends and prices are "about" half those of London. Firm favourite.

Only 43' from King's Cross, this is from experience the best starting point for loops in the countryside for Londoners. You can start straight from the station; no suburb, no spotty cycle lane, no by road - straight on country lanes AND you can go West OR East.
