The summit cross with a rest and vantage point is at an altitude of 920 metres. A fantastic view awaits you as far as the Bohemian Forest, Ötscher, Dachstein and the Waldviertel. It is best to leave your touring bike below and then hike up the last stretch of the narrow path on foot.

The Schlesingerteich has a size of approx. 5.5 ha and used to be used for the floating of wood. The nearby lumberjack museum in the village (approx. 1 km away) documents the development of the lumberjack village of Bärnkopf. At the Schlesingerteich there is a sunbathing lawn (no entry), toilet, changing rooms, beach volleyball court, fitness course and kiosk (open when the pool is open) [waldviertel.at]

Attention: The board of the life path and the Yspertal-Weitental circular hiking trail no. 22 does not point down to the pond but goes over it, but according to the map the path goes past the pond below. In general, the signage in the Dorfstetten area is somewhat inadequate and is not always self-explanatory :-(

The Pfaffenstegteich is picturesquely enclosed by the Weinsberg forest. It used to be called the Brandstetterteich - after the wood chipper family that lived on its banks for many generations.
