For me, it marks the start of a north to south section I like, leads to a very pretty avenue of trees.

Good surface for a bridleway. Tarmac for whole length.

Not so beautiful after it's been raining, even in spring time. Seems to be drier the further west you go.

Great little spot for a cup of tea or coffee.

Great to support a local business. Lovely people providing great food and coffee ☕

Worth the detour. Saw 8 deer as well

Concrete track flanked by trees through picturesque fields. On occasion the friendly cattle are right next to the fence.

Busy road that is a real obstacle when planing loops in Hertfordshire, the A602 can be crossed here then Mill Lane will take you to Watton. This segment isn't identified as rideable or open to bikes in most route planning apps but it can be included in your tour!
