Nice ride out to Redlake, but then using a map, gps and standing on top of the hill, unable to find the track to Avon dam. Really disappointing.

Very cool but currently not permitted to wild camp. Still a fantastic place for a dip!

The Hoe is a large limestone plateau on the edge of which is the citadel. In the park on the Hoe there is a large collection of impressive monuments to the great seafaring nation, including the first circumnavigator Francis Drake, the victory over the Spanish Armada and the two World Wars. Built in front of the sea is the Tinside seawater outdoor pool in Art Deco style, which is definitely worth looking for, and the huge, freely accessible sea bathing area right next to it with a bit of Lost Place charm.

The Avon Dam was built in 1957 to supply water to the coastal towns of South Devon. You can ride up the access road to the base of the dam but will have to leave your bike or push up to see the reservoir.

Yes climbed there before needs a good clean . Take something to clean the route. And the waters clear too.

This is a very popular spot and can be fairly busy if you like a quiet camp on the moor especially in the warmer months and weekends.

Foggintor Quarry is special for so many reasons. It can be a little busy, it's a popular spot for walkers and wild campers but it also happens to be a sunset followers dream spot. In the summer you can watch the sun set and amber scorch the silhouette of the Great Staple and Roos Tor. Some impressive archaeological history and well connected to the granite and gears path connecting you to some of the nicest spots in the Princetown area. See Kings Tor, Sweltor Quarry, Ingra Tor and North Hessary Tor

The Hoe is really the heart of Plymouth; a huge greenspace with dramatic memorials, Smeaton's Tower and unrivalled views. In summer, the grass is covered with people having picnics, throwing frisbees and admiring the fantastic panorama of Plymouth Sound. It's a wonderful place to watch the boats and come for a walk.

Just off the old railway route to Princetown. Granite quarry with several wild camping spots with great views. If camping is your thing expect others to be there too. Most are generally respectful of fellow campers.
