This nature reserve is maintained by volunteers. it is very special because it features a chalk stream which are very rare in the world.

Brent Reservoir is a good place to escape the urban nature of London, especially on the Welsh Harp Open Space, or north side of the water. There are trails that go through the woods, and the reservoir is often busy with canoeists and small sailboats. There are plenty of ducks and swans to look at too, as well as lots of benches to rest on. The north shore is also part of the Capital Ring, a circular walking trail of around 78 miles (125 km) in length that circles London.

Don't miss the numerous Roman sites/sights in the park.

Perched above North London, Hadley Green acts as a gateway on the nicest way out and back into the city. A good spot to pause and feed the ducks before cycling through Barnet and down the hill back to 'town'.

It's is beautiful spot and perfect place to spend time here.

Superb climb up to Mill Hill pond and village, a beautiful old (see Almshouses stone inscribed 1696) part of English semi rural semi scholastic life. Lots of really interesting old architecture to enjoy whilst peddling along. Middle section has a nice swoosh down hill then a nice sharp but short leg burner ( if you stand on the pedals!) up Highwood Hill.

It is a peaceful, green place containing a number of important habitats, notably: a shallow lake that was once a watercress bed, now called The Mere a boggy area, also once a watercress bed an orchard containing a wide variety of fruit trees a butterfly garden small wooded glades ponds

Huge park and equally huge lakes. Not so huge Roman ruins - most of the place was dismantled long ago to be used in the construction of the Cathedral up the hill. There are toilets and ice cream vans and vast expanses of grass.

On the way to St. Albans Verulamium park via Alban way you can find this place, occupied by anglers in weekend.

Quite big lake with large numbers of birds. Nice place to spend time here.
