The small inscription cave below the Schneidjoch Pass in the northwestern Brandenberg Alps is the site of seven Rhaetian rock inscriptions. These date from the Late Iron Age (circa 500–15 BC) and are documents of Rhaetian, a language related to Etruscan that was displaced by Latin after the Roman conquest of the Alpine region. Four of the seven inscriptions in the cave are comprehensible: They record the names of individuals who presumably performed cultic ceremonies at this site. It is particularly noteworthy that three of the four inscriptions belong together, as the names recorded in them are those of a father and his two sons. The nature of the cultic ceremonies performed in or in front of the inscription cave is unclear; perhaps the inscription of names on the rock surface itself was already considered a ritual act (https://tir.univie.ac.at/images/8/88/Steinberg.pdf).

Coming from the Schneidjoch, a beautiful view opens up towards the west. Directly opposite is the Natterwand (or Natternwand).

The Bayerische Wildalm is one of 22 unmanaged self-catering huts of the Munich & Oberland sections. Any adult section member can book sleeping places for themselves as a responsible hut visitor and accompanying persons. There are 12 sleeping places (2 camps with 6 places each), a wood stove, running cold water from the well in front of the hut, electric light (solar cells) and a bio-toilet. The Bayerische Wildalm is located directly on the border with Tyrol in a protected moorland area (Wildalmfilz), which has been included in the list of wetlands of international importance. But it is not only hikers interested in natural history who will be amazed by this landscape and its flora and fauna. Very nice mountain tour. Not for beginners! Contains very dangerous sections.

Private and without catering. Located on the edge of a small raised moor.

The Halserspitz is easier to climb from the south than from the north. It is not exposed here and you don't need your hands. However, it is definitely an alpine path. You should therefore have a certain level of surefootedness and not be shocked by the odd rock step.

From here you have a wonderful view of the Guffert and the plateau.
