From April the National Trust set up a viewing platform, manned by volunteers and complete with information boards, sighting lists and scopes. Take a peek at nesting peregrine falcons and their brood on the cliffs.

The cycle path goes via the Cann Viaduct over the River Plym. On the viaduct you will find a viewing platform for peregrine falcons and in spring and early summer it is worth stopping here. Opposite the platform is an old quarry where Peregrine Falcons nest on ledges. A telescope is mounted here so that you can get a good look at the breeding birds. Outside of these times, a break in your drive is still recommended to look out for other wildlife that call Plym Woods home, such as woodpeckers and ravens.

I can remember the steam train.. anyway, I tried out the blue trail just beyond the viaduct, all good until I fell off. Broken arm and hip, but quite close to derriford hospital once they'd got me to the ambulance. Always wear a helmet kids!
