The via ferrata isn't particularly challenging, and some of the equipment is unusable. Part of the old route appears to have been destroyed by a landslide.

Unfortunately, the lake is fenced off, and access is not permitted. Ultimately, it's a reservoir for winter sports (snow cannons). As of August 2025

After seeing this trail on one of the local maps, and thinking it would be a more fun way back down to the parking lot, I come here to say that this is not just a challenging hiking trail. You will want to secure yourself to the metal cables at two parts at least. We were unprepared, somewhat ignorant, and it was dangerous. Lessons learned for us.

The Immensteig is steep and secured with ropes in some places, but it's not a true via ferrata. You should be sure-footed, but the path isn't overly exposed. Some wet spots can be slippery.

A beautiful, not-too-long climb. Surefootedness, a head for heights, and good shoes are recommended. Plenty of safety equipment and well-marked trails. Simply a beautiful mountaineering trail.
