Two pubs - a traditional Hope and Anchor and a more contemporary craft and pizza place next door.

National Trust Parking is a bargain £3 all day (2025) for non members and of course, free for members.

Signs say dogs on leads.... slightly annoying, if your dog likes to cool down with a swim.

The road runs out here but there's a short stretch of coast path you can push the bike along over to the next headland where you can pick up asphalt road again rather than cutting back inland. Not advisable with cleats on though.

South Milton Sands is a large, pretty sandy beach. Great for some sand sprints. The coast path doesn't go down to the beach, but it's worth a detour if you aren't going for an FKT.

Burgh Island is a tidal island off Bigbury on Sea. There is a great pub and an art deco hotel on the island. The views from the coast path near Bantham are wonderful.

The NT has put wheelchair/pushchair accessible paths down here so there is access for all.

It's often too windy here for a sheltered picnic but so worth it.

The views from here on a good day are superb.

Good views on sand dunes behind car park

Perfect spot to sit a watch the world go by. Watch out for flying golf balls.

The headland looking back on Hope Cove and across to South Milton Sands. A nice stead walk up with some rockier bits near the top. Make sure you’re wearing suitable footwear if you want to get to the top of the view point.

The larger of the two beaches at Hope Cove, this bay is great for surfing, with large sandy areas and even a sheltered area which is great for a paddle board! This beach also includes beautiful shells and beachy stones, found in the rocks when the tide is out.

A beautiful little cove, with great rock pools when the tide it out! Although there is great surf in the area, beware that there is a lot of rocks covering the cove which can be seen when the tide is out.

Beautiful sunsets here, can't recommend enough & the local bars & restaurants all good especially the pizza shack.

Hope is a charming village with two beaches including Hope Cove. Excellent for swimming, enjoy the clear water and relaxed atmosphere before checking out the cafes and ice cream outlets. The cove gets busy in summer but there's usually a spot you can call your own.

Perfect for picnics, and bring cash for the village cafes.
