The path beside the Fossdyke has at one end the Brayford pool in Lincoln with pubs, restaurants and cinema. The route continues past the Pyewipe Inn, Beyond that is Burton Waters with the very popular Woodcocks. Further on is the village of Saxilby with its railway station.

narrow path here alongside a very busy main road - barriers either side though.

Cyclists are welcome. Good coffee, cakes ,sandwiches etc. Interesting water sport viewing on adjacent lake.

Description of gravel not accurate, at on point you have to cycle around the side of a wheat field, very rutted, also nettles about 3 feet high in places. When you turn of the road on the byway it is blocked across the field with electric fences for the horses. Not a very nice ride.

A great place to access this cycle route is the Park & Bike parking in Skellingthorpe.

The cycle track along the A46 is very narrow and can be difficult to manage.

Both these buildings are old the Church dates from the 14th century and the pub from the early 16th century, though some parts are thought to be older. We had a lovely night there, joining in with the Publican's family for a birthday. Just be aware the pub is only open Monday to Thursday from 1600hrs to close and they do, do meals. The room was very comfortable with a small ensuite. Love it all.

Awesome little stop to fuel up on coffee and a cake - also a full cafe menu for more options. Don't forget to visit the giant bike shop next door for bikes and repairs

Doddington Hall is a fine Elizabethan manor house with walled gardens. It also has a large GIANT bike store on-site, with a very cyclist friendly coffee shop in the store.

The Pyewipe Inn, alongside the Fossdyke Canal Trail is the perfect location for those who prefer more relaxed scenery to enjoy a leisurely meal and pint with, compared to the bustle of the nearby city of Lincoln (less than 2 miles away).

Be mindful of walkers when your on your bike, the place is bike friendly and the cafe makes a welcome stop mid tour

Leave your bike outside, its safe, cafe staff are working outside monitoring whilst you go in and grab refreshments

wicked little section, mostly single-track with a slight downhill gradient, can get fast and flowy, nothing much to slow you down and rare chance of walkers and horse riders

nice little statue and landmark to mark the county borders between Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire, point of interest for your tour.

Whisby Nature Park is a beautiful landscape, full of wildlife, with plenty of walks and trails to enjoy. The park was created by quarrying for sand and gravel, but nature has reclaimed the pits and bare sand, creating habitats for many species.
