The visitors centre got some really good maps, the shop keeper also got some useful info and key points , good foot wear needed if your wantingo to climb the tor once at the top, obviously it's safer to wear good shoes, coat cause it's cold at the top around lunch time is a good time to go. ensure you always tell someone where your going if going alone, the weather on the moors changes fast.

St Mary the Virgin is a parish church in Denbury, Devon. It is part of The Beacon Parishes Mission Community, which includes five churches in the area. The church dates back to the 11th century, when the manor of Denbury belonged to Aeldred, Archbishop of York. The present building was consecrated in 1318 by Bishop Stapleden of Exeter and has a cruciform shape with transepts but no side aisles. The church has a fine and spacious chancel, a painted rood screen, a piscina and a circular font that is older than the rest of the building. The tower is 62 feet high and has five bells, two of which were cast in the 17th century. The church is currently seeking volunteers and funds to carry out works on the bell restoration.

Denbury Manor is an historic manor house situated on the edge of the village of Denbury in Devon, England. It was long owned by the Reynell family of East Ogwell, who also held the adjoining manor of West Ogwell. The Reynell estates passed by marriage to the Taylor family in the 18th century. The manor house is a 17th-century building with a Georgian front and has a gatehouse and boundary wall built by Walter Septimus Curtis circa 1912-14. The house and its associated buildings are listed as Grade II on the National Heritage List for England. Denbury Manor has an Edwardian garden on a site that was known to be inhabited in the 11th century. The garden features two summerhouses and gate piers. Near the village is Denbury Hill, an Iron Age hill fort that attests to the long history of human habitation in the area.

Went in on a cycle tour at the end of a long day - no pasta on the menu, no pump to check tyre pressures, no oil can to lube the chain, no help refilling water bottles. It's a bike themed cafe with high prices, but that's all.

The visitor center is well located for the start of a walk to the iconic Haytor Rocks and other walks throughout this part of Dartmoor. There are toilets, a parking lot, and the visitor center itself where you can ask questions about the area and walks. The Haytor Vale climb heads from Bovey Tracey up to Dartmoor but of course can also be descended the other way. It is sheltered down in Bovey Tracey but you can except the wind to pick up once you reach Dartmoor. It's long, at 3.6 miles and an average of 6%. The Tour of Britain has finished at Haytor Vale, most recently in 2013 when the stage was won by Adam Yates. In 1979 the National Hill Climb Champs were held there and if you fancy your own go, Mid Devon Cycling Club hold an annual hill climb race here.

Long wait for food which was top end of the price range for a café of this nature. Acoustics in the building make it very noisy. Lots of pictures of cycling related activity while you’re waiting. There is a café About 30 yards from this one on the corner of Newton Road Which I would recommend above this one
