We were on the Kienbergsteig yesterday. It is not recommended for inexperienced hikers. We set off from the Toni Lenz Hut at 3 p.m. You should plan on about 3 hours for the descent, as the path is almost impossible to find (leaves and fallen trees as described above). We were often confused about where to go next. It is best to have a headlamp with you. The descent is not possible without navigation. The views were still breathtaking, of course.

Zistelrundweg

Due to a shortage of skilled workers, the Zistelalm is unfortunately only open for events (as of July 2024). A cozy, spontaneous stop at an altitude of 1000 m is therefore no longer possible. That's a shame, because the beautiful place with a view of the mountains offers a holiday feeling in between.

The Salzburg Hochthron is 1,852 m above sea level. NHN, after the Berchtesgadener Hochthron, the second highest peak of the Untersberg massif in the Berchtesgaden Alps. You can easily climb to the summit via the Thomas-Eder-Steig; if you prefer a more comfortable route, you can take the Untersbergbahn.
