One of the many pleasant lane/roads of Rutland.

Probably a part of the Great North Road and now a quiet climb from under the A1 up to a right hand turn towards Pickworth.

A handy place to stop if the bonk threatens when riding the quiet lanes around here.

Nice white-posted bridge and causeway over the water meadows, leading to a couple of pubs on the south bank.

Convenient refreshment stop on the main route through the village.

Scenic spot where the road crosses the dammed stream that forms the lakes.

A maze of quiet lanes to pedal around in the area. A lovely inn, but pricey; the kind of place to go to for a treat.

Nice lane. Very little traffic. Get a good view of the military vehicles kept at the barracks.

Really nice little cafe and shop. Community run and very welcoming to cyclists so if your looking to plan a stop on your route this is a decent place to go. The Olive Branch is a small village pub in Rutland, England’s smallest county. In 2021, this upmarket pub was awarded UK Pub of the Year, according to the Good Pub Guide 2021.

Part of a local clubs time trial course. The Bull Climb is an enjoyable climb, made better by a decent surface. The village shop at the top serves good sandwiches and cakes too, with a bench opposite for a picnic seat. A great place to reward yourself for the effort.

The tarmac is horrible now and wasn't that quiet, passing cars don't leave much space on a road. In short avoid
